ITALY, Norman Sicily, William I, (1154-1166), 14mm, (0.74 g), AE follaro fraction, struck at Messina, c.1155, obv. Madonna holding infant Christ, rev. REX, legend within circle of Kufic letters around, ("Struck in Messina year 550"), (Spahr 99, MIR 33). Dark green patina, fine- very fine for issue.
